The Gimpy Girls Workout
To be honest, I never really thought there would come a day when I would NEED to be as strong as I am...But five minutes on my crutches gave me a new perspective. Turns out, I've been training all my life for this event.
Injuries and the limitations that follow, whether temporary or permanent, can be frustrating. For those of us that are accustomed to working out on a regular basis and use exercise as a means of staying semi-sane, physical restrictions can also be demoralizing. The next person that suggests to me that "maybe this is just the universe's way of slowing you down..." is going to be whacked with my crutches--ya know, just helping the universe help you...you're welcome. As it turns out, you do not get to choose a convenient time to be down for the count. You don't get to say, ya know what, I've got too much on my plate already. Life doesn't come at you, one thing at a time. And so, I see that I have only the choice to let the stampede run me over, or ride it out. The Gimpy Girls Workout is my Giddy-Up-and-Go. If you have an injury, please check with your doctor before giving this a try. And if you're not injured, well, take a seat, girl. Ya never know when you're gonna need to be this strong. |
This limping lunatic is down, but not out.
